Wings And A Prayer

God, give me wings so I may soar
Above this earth forevermore
Please make them lightweight but very strong
For they have to last my whole life long
They don't have to be silver or spun of gold
Or thermal-treated to resist the heat and cold
Or have the latest label saying improved and brand new
Because any old pair of angel wings will do
Make them of laughter and also of tears
And make them extra roomy to hold all my fears
Then mark them with this message and wrap them in love
"These wings have been sent to you by God from My heaven above"
